WHAT IS COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHYComputed Tomography also called CT is a type of radiation to look inside your body.This also uses higher levels of radiation compared to X-rays.CT takes more detailed pictures and scans.
HOW IS IT USED?During a CT scan the patient getting examined lies on a bed which goes through to a x-ray tube shooting beams through the body using special x-ray detectors.
WHAT ARE THE RISKS ?when exposed to ionising radiation, it can lead to lifetime of developing cancer. There is more of a higher chance of this happening when the patient is young than adult patients.
